LSI increases transmission range on entire line of products
Today LSI announced that its standard product transmission range is now 4,000 feet or 1,300 meters up from a previous range of 3,200 feet or 1,000 meters. The advantage of this type of range is the ability to get the wireless signal through to the receiver when the line of sight is less than ideal. This ensures that LSI products will work in all market conditions.
There are several benefits that a customer will derive from the increased range. Radio signals bounce and skip off of objects and the landscape to get to their destination. The increased range will provide improved signal bounce eliminating line of sight issues often seen with taper tipped crane booms.
An additional benefit is the ability to remote monitor the sensors from an office location. We recently sold a system where an LSI wireless receiver card was installed into an office computer on the opposite side of the facility, allowing the maintenance office computer to display all crane sensor data. This would not have been possible without the increased range.
